Dr. Gene M. Boysen
Dr. Gene M. Boysen is a 1989 graduate of Kansas State University. Dr. Boysen has spent his entire professional career in the St. Cloud area focusing on small animal medicine and surgery. Special interests include general and orthopedic surgery, ultrasound, and endoscopy. Dr. Boysen lives in the St. Joseph area with his family and three pets; Sparky, an nine year old Dalmatian, Willie, a 17 year old cat, Sasha, a kitten.

Michelle Laumeyer
Michelle graduated from the Medical Institute of Minnesota in 1994. She has been working as a certified Veterinary Technician since graduation. She is a member of the Minnesota Association of Veterinary Technicians, National Association of the Veterinary Technicians, and the International Veterinary Association of Pain Management. She also works part time at Affiliated Emergency Veterinary Service. Her professional interests include surgery, internal medicine, and emergency and critical care.
Julie Kustermann
Julie was born and raised in the St. Cloud area. She graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1995. After high school Julie attended St. Cloud State University. In 1999, she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biomedicine. In 2005, Julie graduated from Animal Behavior College and became certified as a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. She is also a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT).
Kari Miller
Kari holds a bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology from North Dakota State University. She graduated in spring 2005. She’s been working as a certified technician since graduation. She is also a member of the Minnesota Association of Veterinary Technicians, National Association of Veterinary Technicians, and the International Veterinary Association of Pain Management
John Nielsen
John graduated from the Medical Institute of Minnesota in 1997. He has been working as a Certified Technician since graduation. John’s interests in the field of veterinary medicine include surgery, anesthesia, neurology, rehabilitation, and internal medicine. John also has a special interest in critical care. He is an active member of the Minnesota Association of Veterinary Technicians, the National Association of Veterinary Technician, International Veterinary Association of Pain Management, Veterinary Emergency Critical Care Service, and the Minnesota Veterinary Reserve Corps.
Jane Traut
Jane is our inventory manager. She has 14 years of experience in veterinary purchasing. Jane’s professional interests include practice management and the promotion of team building in the work place.
Sarah Winter
Sarah works as a veterinary assistant at our clinic. She is a 2006 Apollo High School graduate and is currently a fulltime student at St. Cloud State University. Her interests include pre-medicine, pre-veterinary medicine and general studies.
Victor Medina
Victor works as a veterinary assistant at our clinic. Victor is a 1989 veterinary graduate of the University of Mexico. He completed a residency in equine reproduction at UC Davis and is currently studying for licensure in the United States. His interests include reproduction of all species.
“Butterscotch”
Butterscotch found his way to our clinic shortly after opening in January. He has adapted well from stray to well feed clinic cat. He watches everyone come and go and donates blood when called upon.
